Canada will welcome the world in 2017

So look to springtime getaways to avoid the crowds!

Celebrations, festivals, activities and so much more will be putting Canada in the world spotlight in 2017.  This is Canada's sesquicentennial - its 150th year of Confederation - and millions of overseas visitors are planning their Canadian vacations to coincide with this auspicious occasion.

Peak time for travel will certainly be from June into September, when demand for hotels and transportation may outstrip supply.

Parks Canada are joining the celebration by providing free admission to all Parks Canada operated National Parks and Historic sites for the whole of 2017.  Visitation in these parks and historic sites is expected to reach record levels, particularly during summer months.  The extra traffic on the roads and in our Provincial and National parks will result in long line-ups and certain delays.

One way to avoid this is to plan your Canadian vacation for the springtime - probably Canada's most undervalued seasons.  It's a magical time of year, bringing with it a renewed energy in the landscape.Wildlife are emerging from their winter hibernation, ice is disappearing from the lakes, rivers and waterfalls and it's the perfect time to travel without having to pre-book accommodation or stand in line-ups at popular attractions.  Roads are clear and relatively empty of traffic, making it a much more relaxing time to travel.

The best way to experience true Canadiana it is at a grass-roots level, up close and personal amongst its natural surroundings. What we love about taking out a motorhome, trailer or RV is that it allows you to experience Canada at your own pace.It gives you the freedom to spend as much time as you want pushing Canadian scenery past your windows, with the ability to spend extra time in the special places you discover en route so you can get close to nature and enjoy quality time with friends and loved ones as you share a common experience together.

If you're looking to explore Canada on its 150th birthday but want flexibility, convenience and to beat the inevitable crowds -  a springtime getaway in an RV, motorhome or trailer might just be your best option.
